Director of Marketing Kathy Turley

Meet A Hero: Kathy Turley

Home Clean Heroes Director of Marketing, Kathy Turley, is also often known as Mrs. Incredible. Prior to becoming our in-house marketing superhero, Kathy spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, where she learned, above all, the valuable skills of flexibility and adaptability. Whether driving new customer acquisition or keeping her eye on the customer experience as a facilitator of retention, Kathy knows that exceeding customer expectations is key.

Get to Know Kathy Even Better

Kathy graduated with a degree in business from Elon University in North Carolina, but has called the Northern Virginia/Maryland area home for most of her life. When not enjoying the beach or the water, she and her husband can be found on the sidelines of her daughter’s field hockey games or visiting their son at Virginia Tech.

In addition to Kathy’s strong skill set from her hospitality background, she has done an incredible job outlining the big picture of how the different elements of marketing play into the overall success for Home Clean Heroes business owners. She is also warm and friendly, making all our franchisees feel comfortable to approach her with questions, or to hop on a call to bounce ideas back and forth.

Q&A with Kathy

Hear from Kathy on some of her favorite things about working for Home Clean Heroes, and what she’s looking forward to with the brand’s future.

What is one thing you’re excited about for where Home Clean Heroes is heading?

I’m so excited to be partnering with First Responders Children’s Foundation as part of our Heroes First initiative. It’s such a great and rewarding way to give back to our local communities. Beyond that, I continue to be excited by watching our franchisees grow, gain confidence and get closer to achieving their goals.

What is one of your favorite Home Clean Heroes memories to date?

I don’t know if it’s necessarily one of my favorites, but it is certainly a memorable one.  When I first started, I asked to go out cleaning with a team so I could experience what a day in the life of a cleaning specialist is like.  Let me tell you, it was HARD!  I think another was when we awarded our very first franchise in 2019, or when my coworkers decided to fill my office with balloons for my birthday.  It was full – I had to wade through a sea of black balloons to get to my desk!!

What led you to this career?

I fell into the world of franchising, much like so many others do. I certainly didn’t set out to be in franchising, nor in the house cleaning segment! I spent the majority of my career in corporate marketing positions in hospitality, mainly in restaurants. When we moved to Virginia Beach, I started looking for jobs and that’s how I found Buzz Franchise Brands. The job I have now is a close parallel to my hospitality background, running branding efforts and national marketing campaigns, while supporting local marketing efforts. When you think about it, the house cleaning industry really is another form of hospitality.

What energizes you at work?

Chocolate and a good laugh.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

“You were given two ears and one mouth for a reason.”   A former CEO and mentor from The Palm Restaurant Group shared that quote with me one day.  It’s another way of saying how important it is to listen.

We are grateful to have Kathy as part of our team, continuously setting up our franchisees for success and dazzling both the franchise owners and corporate team with her sparkling personality. Interested franchise candidates will get to meet with Kathy as part of the discovery day process, and then again for training and throughout their time as a franchisee.
